Description

The WBUR Business Office manages revenue processing, grant management, contracts, procurement, payroll oversight, compliance, budgeting, audits, and financial reporting. The Controller/Director of Finance leads all financial and accounting operations and supports WBUR's strategic and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
Lead accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, billing, collections, procurement, and accounts payable
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Prepare accurate financial reports for management and the Board
Ensure compliance with regulatory, institutional, and nonprofit accounting standards
Oversee grant administration, including pre- and post-award activities
Partner with the Chief Financial & Operations Officer on strategic initiatives
Manage and develop finance and accounting staff
Collaborate with Boston University Financial Affairs on reporting, forecasting, and operations
Drive process improvements and operational excellence

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Minimum 8 years of related finance and accounting experience
Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (SAP or similar)
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Experience translating financial results into business insights
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and leadership teams

Compensation
Salary Range: $120,375 - $168,525 annually
Final salary determined by experience, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity considerations
