Workday Financial Analyst Job Description The Workday Financial Analyst plays a key hands-on role in a major Workday Financials implementation, supporting finance initiatives from initial design through go-live and postproduction support. This position partners closely with finance leadership and stakeholders to translate business needs into effective Workday Financials solutions, ensuring robust financial processes, accurate reporting, and a smooth endtoend implementation lifecycle. Responsibilities Support the endtoend Workday Financials implementation from design and configuration through testing, golive, and postproduction support. Configure and support Core Financials, including General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Customer Accounts, and Fixed Assets. Configure and support Cash Management and Asset Management modules to align with finance and accounting requirements. Translate business requirements into clear functional designs and system configurations within Workday Financials. Perform financial analysis, financial reporting, and reconciliations to validate data accuracy and system outputs. Create detailed test scripts and scenarios to validate Workday Financials functionality and integrations. Support user acceptance testing (UAT), including test execution, issue tracking, and coordination with stakeholders. Manage defect resolution by investigating issues, identifying root causes, and driving timely fixes and retesting. Lead functional workstreams within the Workday Financials implementation, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives. Manage system changes from intake through deployment, including impact assessment, documentation, and change control. Partner directly with finance leadership and key stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions. Support the development and maintenance of financial reports and dashboards within Workday. Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and financial workflows. Assist with enduser training and knowledge transfer to ensure effective adoption of Workday Financials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial processes are integrated and consistent across the organization. Essential Skills 4+ years of Workday Financials implementation experience, including full lifecycle implementations. Strong hands-on experience with Workday General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Customer Accounts, and Fixed Assets. Proven experience supporting full lifecycle implementations from design through golive and postproduction support. Strong accounting and finance process knowledge, including financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation. Demonstrated experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, and issue resolution. Proven ability to manage defect resolution, including root cause analysis and coordination of fixes. Ability to lead functional workstreams, not limited to configuration tasks. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with finance leadership and stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management skills, including requirement gathering and expectation management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience configuring and supporting Core Financials, Cash Management, and Asset Management in Workday. Experience translating business requirements into functional design documents and system configurations. Experience managing system changes from intake through deployment within an enterprise application environment. Experience supporting financial reporting, documentation, and enduser training. Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field is highly beneficial.
