Job Summary The Finance Department Intern provides administrative and operational support to the Finance and Accounting team while gaining exposure to day-to-day financial processes within a business environment. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and foundational knowledge related to accounting functions, financial reporting, administrative support, and departmental operations. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Job Function Essential Job Duties Assist the Finance and Accounting team with daily administrative and operational tasks. Support data entry and maintenance of financial records and documentation. Organize, scan, file, and maintain electronic and physical financial documents. Assist with invoice processing, document matching, and record verification. Help prepare reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation as directed. Assist with reconciliation and audit preparation activities. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable administrative processes. Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information. Assist with special finance-related projects and research assignments. Communicate professionally with internal departments regarding documentation and follow-up requests. Support department organization and workflow coordination. Perform general clerical duties including copying, filing, scanning, and document preparation. Non-Essential Job Duties Assist with departmental supply organization and administrative tasks. Support filing and record retention projects. Participate in departmental meetings or training opportunities. Provide backup administrative support as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations. Required Skills Qualifications Current enrollment in a college or university program preferred. Coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred. Prior office or internship experience preferred but not required. Basic understanding of accounting or finance concepts preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Ability to learn new systems and processes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment. Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $20.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
