About the Position
The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense transactions for ALS Canada Ltd. This role supports the Finance department by maintaining strong internal controls, resolving vendor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Specific Responsibilities
Receive, review, and process high volumes of vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness
Match invoices to purchase orders, review discrepancies, and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues
Ensure proper tax treatment (GST/HST/PST) and coding of expenses in alignment with company accounting standards
Act as a primary contact for vendor inquiries, ensuring timely and professional communication
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, billing issues, and payment questions
Maintain organized and complete records of all accounts payable transactions
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
Ensure compliance with ALS corporate policies, internal controls, and financial procedures
Identify opportunities to improve A/P workflows, automation, and data accuracy
Participate in finance system upgrades, testing, and A/P-related projects
Contribute to the continuous improvement culture within the Finance team
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
High level of diligence and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), and electronic invoice workflows
Strong ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Strong understanding of GST/HST/PST and Canadian vendor compliance requirements
Experience in high-volume, multi-entity, or multi-currency environments is an asset
Ability to accurately follow instructions
Positive, team-player attitude with a strong work ethic
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Required Qualifications
13 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience

An estimated hourly pay ranging from $25.58 - $28.62 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training
