PART-TIME Bookkeeper-Office Manager for Construction Company

General contractor based in Central Marin is seeking a part-time bookkeeper / office manager. You will be responsible for most aspects of the business, including, but not limited to:
All bookkeeping functions (AR, AP, PR)
Work with owner to prepare job estimates and contracts
Prepare job profitability and financial reports
Obtain building permits and manage inspections
Answer phone to interact with crew, customers, subs and vendors
Set up and maintain virtual and digital files
Manage insurance policies (Workers Comp, Gen Liabilility, Auto, etc.)
Keep office running smoothly
REQUIREMENTS:
This is NOT a remote position. It requires in-office presence approx. 20 hours per week to manage the workflow. There is flexibility with days & hours but at least 2-1/2 days a week is required.
Previous work experience with a general contractor, subcontractor, or general familiarity with the construction industry.
Intermediate to advanced bookkeeping proficiency is required. There will be no formal training per se, so you must be able to jump right in and take the reins.
Must be fluent with Quickbooks OnLine; MS Outlook, Word & Excel; Adobe Acrobat.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
We are a family-owned & operated general construction company established in 1977. You will work directly with the owner who is mostly in the field visiting job sites and meeting with clients. You must be self-motivated and be able to schedule your own workflow, as you will be mostly on your own in the office.
We are located near downtown San Anselmo in an office building with a central garden courtyard and easy parking. You may need to run out-of-office errands occasionally, such as picking up project drawings, picking up/delivering materials to job sites, etc. Please have reliable transportation.
