Position Summary
The Part-Time Accounting Assistant supports the accounting team with daily financial tasks, including invoice entry, cash handling for retail locations, bank runs, and monthly reconciliations. This role requires accuracy, reliability, and discretion, and may assist with additional accounting duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Enter vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Count and reconcile daily cash for two retail bakeshops
Prepare and make change for retail operations
Perform bank runs, including deposits and change orders
Assist with monthly reconciliations (bank, cash, and related accounts)
Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records
Support the accounting team with additional tasks and projects as needed

Qualifications & Skills
Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related administrative work preferred
QuickBooks Online experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable handling cash and sensitive financial information
Basic proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets)
Ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Trustworthy, dependable, and able to work independently

Work Environment & Requirements
In-office position
Ability to perform bank runs and transport cash safely
May require standing, counting, and handling cash for short periods

Compensation & Schedule
Hourly rate - $23/hr
Mon-Fri, 4 hours per day (approx. 20 hours/week)
