Description The Personnel Cabinet offers the great opportunity to work with and serve state agencies, employees and citizens across the Commonwealth. The Kentucky Deferred Compensation Authority (KDC) is the official supplemental retirement system for employees in the Commonwealth, public education, and local programs. KDC is seeking a Deferred Compensation Analyst II who will provide comprehensive and specialized customer service to participants in KDC by providing guidance to members on various program options. Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Processing Participation Agreements for enrollments, increases, decreases and discontinuances. Counsels and communicates with participants to resolve inconsistencies. Processing Lump Sum Deferral Agreements to ensure accuracy with application program rules, Internal Revenue Code provisions and policies and procedures. Processing participant account updates resulting from employer changes, verifying documentation and validating participant elections. Preferred skills and abilities: Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential. Possess a high level of integrity and personal accountability; must be able to work unsupervised. Knowledge of State Government, Governmental Retirement Plans, and respective tax law. Ability to multi-task. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in personnel administration or business administration. One year of the required experience must include administering a deferred compensation or similar benefit program. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in business administration or public administration will substitute for the one year of non-deferred compensation or similar benefit program experience. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience as an investment counselor, deferred compensation counselor or similar work in providing information on retirement or other benefit programs or experience in business administration, public administration, accounting, or information technology will substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis. Current certification as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist OR as a Professional Administrator and Management Executive as certified by the International Foundation for Retirement Education will substitute for the required education. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting. Occasional travel is required to make presentations on program activities. Communicates frequently by telephone and with walk-in members. Uses keyboard to access account information on participants. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
