Healthcare Controller - Job Description We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing healthcare organization. This individual will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support operational leadership, and help drive process improvements across the finance department. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific accounting regulations Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Monitor cash flow and support strategic financial planning initiatives Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors and tax partners Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment Assist with system implementations, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred Healthcare industry experience required, including knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and reporting Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and leadership skills Preferred Experience Experience within hospital, physician group, behavioral health, long-term care, or multi-site healthcare environments Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare revenue cycle processes Experience leading audits and working with executive leadership teams Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary plus bonus potential Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) PTO and paid holidays Opportunity for growth within a stable and growing organization Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
