Payroll Specialist Location: Golden Valley, MN Schedule: Monday-Friday typical daytime business hours. Work from home eligible after 90 days of employment. Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely processing of payroll. Working in a team dynamic is a crucial component of the position. In this role, the Payroll Specialist must be able to work cohesively across multiple departments and assist customers' daily needs. Essential Job Duties: * Process of new hire paperwork: verification and entry into the payroll system to ensure all changes to employee records are applied. * Execute a bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll, including timesheet calculations, timesheet data entry, and processing of the actual payroll and manual check runs. * Apply excellent customer service standards in accordance with company policies. * Process child support, garnishment, and tax levy orders and payments. * Ensure proper insurance and benefit deductions are withheld from employee payroll checks. * Maintains employee paid time off plan * Ensure all payroll timesheets and related documents are stored properly within the electronic data storage system. * Communicate and work cohesively across multiple departments and have excellent time management and organization skills. * Proficiency in spoken and written English communication Required Qualifications: * Proficiency in spoken and written English communication * Successful clearance of Department of Human Services background check * Successful clearance of Motor Vehicle Background Check and acceptable driving record per Company Policy Preferred Qualifications: * Excellent written and verbal communication * Degree in accounting or other finance related fields is preferred but not required * Experience working with Microsoft Office. Experience working with Great Plains and Mfiles preferred
