The Accounting Manager oversees the operation of the Accounting department, creates functional strategies and specific objectives, and assists in the development of budgets/policies/procedures. Typically requires 2+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversees and directs the operations of the accounting team.
Implements and trains accounting staff, on accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards.
Monitors and evaluates accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Oversees overall monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting.
Staffing including interviewing candidates, annual reviews, and employee goals.
Collaborate with other departments.
Assists with budget process, including variance analysis on financial reporting
Communicates with vendors
Maintains oversight of accounts payable process along with preparing weekly cash disbursement approval.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or directly related field
2+ years’ Managerial Experience
3+ years’ Accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
Experience in Accounting in Healthcare Industry (Laboratory, Services) required
Solid comprehension of GAAP Standards
Financial Statement Analysis
Accounting Software and ERP Systems (Experience with QuickBooks Desktop preferred)
