Epiphany Parish of Seattle, WA, seeks an experienced Church Accountant & Payroll Administrator at this vibrant parish with a $2.5M annual budget.
Responsibilities
Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial records
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, budget-to-actuals, and audit support materials
Process semi-monthly payroll and administer Paychex Flex and Time & Attendance
Ensure compliance with federal, Washington State, and local payroll laws
Prepare W-2s, 1099s, and related year-end filings
Record and reconcile pledges, contributions, and restricted funds
Collaborate with parish leadership, staff, and volunteers to provide clear financial reporting and support
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of nonprofit accounting and payroll experience
Experience with fund accounting and donor-restricted funds
Strong organizational skills, discretion, and attention to detail
Preferred
Experience in a church or faith-based nonprofit
Experience with Paychex Flex, ACS Financials, and/or Realm
Familiarity with Washington State payroll compliance
Salary range: $87,000-$95,000 DOE, plus health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, sick leave, and holidays.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and compliance with Diocese of Olympia and Episcopal Church Safe Church policies.
