Job Summary:

Provides in-depth analysis of credit, collateral and financial statements of individuals and business entities to determine the degree of risk involved in extending commercial credit and to prepare presentations with this credit information for use in decision-making by loan committees. A Credit Analyst II will underwrite a variety of loan requests that are more complex in nature, while continuing to work under Credit Management for input on and review of work product.

Provides secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers at all times. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships. Work in cooperation with other departments.

Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills in order to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare Credit Request Presentations that analyze the degree of risk involved in extending credit.

2. Confer with Credit Management and Commercial lenders to determine appropriate structures and terms, making recommendations when appropriate.

3. Make recommendations for credit grading / loan risk rating.

4. Prepare financial spreads and ratio analysis using spreading software.

5. Conducts annual analysis and prepares memorandums for large commercial loan relationships.

6. Attends Loan Committee meetings, as appropriate, to be available to answer questions regarding credit analysis and to assist with presenting the data.

Other Functions:

1. Study and stay current with compliance regulations, industry trends, and economic conditions as they relate to commercial lending.

2. Continue to complete training requirements as established by Credit Management.

Works on special projects as assigned by Credit Management.

Other duties as requested by supervisor or other management representative of the bank.

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business/finance, accounting, or economics.

2-4 years of relevant credit or financial analysis experience.

Successful completion of all Credit Analyst I training requirements, as applicable.

Strong accounting background and sales experience desirable.

Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills; positive attitude with team-player approach.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments; detail oriented with flexibility in dealing with a changing work environment, customer service oriented and a strong sense of urgency.

Strong math skills and sound understanding of general accounting/reconciling principles.

Strong computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets and menu-driven software, are preferred.

Must comply with all bank policies and maintain customer confidentiality.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others.

General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:

Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate work station.

Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.

Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions:

Atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation;

Changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.

Other physical attributes required to successfully perform the essential functions above include finger agility, talking, and listening.
