Position Summary:
ArborOne Farm Credit is seeking a skilled and proactive Loan Workout Specialist to manage a portfolio of distressed and problem loans. This role works collaboratively with lending staff and external partners to develop and execute effective resolution strategies. The ideal candidate brings strong business judgment and problem-solving skills, along with the confidence to make and communicate difficult decisions. This position requires a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and a commitment to delivering solutions that support both borrowers and the organization's financial health, while maintaining sound credit administration and risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and service a portfolio of problem and delinquent loans, including analysis, monitoring, and reporting
Evaluate borrower financials and recommend appropriate actions, including restructuring, liquidation, or other resolution strategies
Communicate loan decisions to borrowers, clearly explaining outcomes and rationale
Coordinate foreclosure, bankruptcy, and other legal proceedings with attorneys and external partners
Oversee the management, marketing, and disposition of acquired properties
Partner with lending teams to identify and address emerging credit issues in compliance with applicable regulations
Determine cost-effective solutions, including troubled debt restructuring when appropriate
Serve as a primary point of contact for delinquent accounts, supporting relationship managers and ensuring timely collection efforts
Maintain accurate documentation of all servicing and collection activities
Contribute to strategic initiatives, projects, and team efforts as needed
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in credit administration, loan servicing, special assets, or a related field
Strong understanding of loan structures, credit analysis, and risk management
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Self-motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently and efficiently
Ability to make sound, timely decisions in high-pressure situations
Capacity to represent the association in legal proceedings when required
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Experience working w ithin a structured, compliance-driven environment
Proficiency in financial systems and loan administration tools
Ability to travel within the territory serviced by the Association, as required
Preferred:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
