Job Summary
The Re-Mark Fleet Analyst is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining railcar reporting mark activities across AITX's fleet. This role serves as the primary owner of re-mark tracking, mark transitions, fleet record accuracy, foreign mark usage reconciliation, and related billing activities.
The position acts as a key partner across Fleet Operations, Portfolio Management, Mechanical, Engineering, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate asset identification, minimize mark-related costs, maintain data integrity, and support efficient fleet utilization.
This role requires strong analytical capability, project coordination skills, and working knowledge of rail fleet data systems including UMLER, fleet management records, and reporting mark administration. Current responsibilities already include mark reconciliation, foreign mark tracking, UMLER validation, and cost management activities.
Job Duties
Re-Mark Planning & Project Coordination
Coordinate railcar re-mark activities across AITX owned and managed assets
Manage multiple re-mark initiatives simultaneously across repair shops, vendors, railroads, lessors, and operating environments
Maintain future-state and current-state reporting mark records
Track project status, timing, dependencies, and implementation milestones
Coordinate re-mark execution with internal and external stakeholders
Fleet Records & Data Management
Maintain accurate reporting mark history and asset records
Reconcile fleet information between:
Fleet Management System (FMS)
UMLER
Repair records
Portfolio and ownership data
Validate accuracy of reporting mark changes and related asset updates
Support audit activity and fleet record integrity initiatives
Foreign Mark Tracking & Cost Control
Monitor foreign mark usage across fleet activity
Track sold assets operating outside AITX ownership
Reconcile foreign mark invoices against fleet records and re-mark activity
Support mark fee rebilling and cost recovery efforts
Review and approve mark-related invoice activity
Identify opportunities to reduce mark expense exposure
Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain reporting related to:
Re-mark activity
Fleet status
Foreign mark usage
Cost trends
Billing recovery
Analyze fleet data to identify discrepancies, risks, and process improvements
Support ad hoc reporting requests for Fleet Operations and leadership teams
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with:
Fleet Administration
Engineering
Mechanical
Portfolio Management
Repair Operations
External railroads
Vendors and lessors
Serve as internal subject matter resource for re-mark processes and fleet record management
Education and Experience
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain, Analytics, Accounting, or related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in:
Rail operations
Fleet administration
Asset management
Transportation analytics
Rail leasing or logistics environments
Experience working with fleet records, reporting marks, UMLER, Railinc systems, asset tracking, or related databases preferred
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability
Experience working with reconciliations, reporting, and large data sets
