Accounts Payable Clerk (Contract-to-Hire | Hybrid | Charlotte, NC)

LHH is seeking an entry-level Accounts Payable Specialist to join a collaborative and stable team in a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity. This role offers hands-on experience in high-volume AP operations, with full training provided.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment. Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify vendor invoices received through the system across multiple entities
  • Code and approve invoices within SAP (PO and non-PO)
  • Manage an assigned workflow queue and meet daily processing expectations
  • Post payments and process transactions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Investigate and resolve system exceptions, discrepancies, and invoice issues
  • Assist with account reconciliations and support month-end activities
  • Communicate with internal teams to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies
  • Support additional ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to accounting, finance, or AP is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
  • Comfortable working with systems (SAP experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and apply it effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently in a remote environment

Compensation & Schedule:

Compensation: $22-24/hour

Schedule: Must live local to Charlotte - in office once a week

Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
