Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Job Cost Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.

Critical job functions
1. Analyzing costs associated with construction projects.
2. Tracking expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each job.
3. Assist in Monthly Review of projects with the Project Managers
4. Update monthly Projections for Projects
5. Assist in preparing accurate documentation for the Prequalification process.
6. Assist in posting monthly job accruals and Work in Progress review.
7. Assist in Cap Ex Budgeting and Annual Plant Budget Process
8. Preparing cost-related reports for management.
9. Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
10. Contributing to accurate financial statements.
11. 10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
1. Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
2. 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable (internal applicants may be appointed with less than this)
3. Proficiency in cost accounting principles; construction industry preferred
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious
6. Very comfortable with Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel.
7. Familiarity with Vista a plus

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds.

Work Environment.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate in the office to occasionally loud at field locations.
