Accounting Manager Base Salary: $130K to $155K Location: West Des Moines, IA Company Summary: A well-established insurance provider with a multi-state footprint across life and P&C business lines. The company operates with a diversified structure and is known for its financial stability, collaborative culture, and long-tenured employee base. Responsibilities Oversee statutory accounting and reporting for life insurance entities. Lead and develop a team of 3-4 professionals, ensuring strong performance and sustainable workloads. Partner with actuarial and finance teams to deliver accurate, timely financial insights. Support internal and external audits and regulatory inquiries. Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for greater efficiency. Contribute to system enhancements and modernization initiatives. Qualifications 8+ years of accounting experience, ideally with insurance statutory reporting exposure. CPA highly preferred. Background in life insurance strongly preferred, open to P&C or Big 4 audit with insurance clients. Prior leadership experience is a plus, but high-potential senior candidates will be considered. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion is highly desirable. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to operate across multiple priorities.
