In this role, you ll build hands-on experience across core accounting functions-month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting-while working closely with department leadership. What You ll Take Ownership Of:
Active participation in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Coordinate with leadership across locations and departments on financial matters.
Involvement in audits, including preparing and reviewing financial information.
Identify opportunities for process improvement in day-to-day accounting workflows
Perform financial analysis, identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Contribute to special projects and initiatives as requested by senior leadership, providing financial expertise and insights.
Need-To-Haves:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting
4+ years of progressive accounting experience
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
Strong analytical background
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work successfully in a team environment and independently
Excellent time management skills to balance multiple deadlines and priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
High proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, data manipulation, etc.)
Ability to keep a high degree of confidentiality of information
Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills, as this position will interact with a variety of colleagues across departments and financial backgrounds
Love-To-Haves
Proven experience working in a multi-location omnichannel retail environment or similar business as a Staff Accountant
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Prior ERP systems experience
Familiarity with MS Queries or similar data tools
Knowledge of tax compliance and regulation
