Accounting Manager
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Overview
We are partnering with a growing organization in the Arlington Heights area to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead a small team, and play a key role in financial reporting, process improvement, and audit coordination. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in public accounting combined with progressive industry experience and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes
Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing coaching and development
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Coordinate and manage external audits and support audit deliverables [JO: Update...us, Itasca | Outlook]
Oversee AP/AR, cash management, and daily accounting operations [JO: Update...us, Itasca | Outlook]
Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
Partner cross-functionally with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
6+ years of progressive accounting experience
Public accounting experience required (Big 4 or mid-tier strongly preferred)
Supervisory experience required (directly managing or mentoring staff)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills
CPA preferred (or in progress)
