JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Account Clerk, this multi-faceted position is responsible for administering the Department's billing for incidents, accident, miscellaneous reimbursements, special details, alarm fines/permits etc. and the accounts receivable functions in accordance with the City and Department policies and procedures and CALEA accreditation standards. Maintaining inventory control of Department office supplies and printing of forms to include ordering, receiving, storing, and delivering same to various Bureaus within the Department. Tracking and processing of various reimbursements and generating Treasury Report to credit proper checks and/or wires received. Prepare Strategic Ledger Overtime Weekly Excel Report for Business Coordinator review and distribution to Command Staff. Responsible for reconciliation and internal reporting of Equitable Sharing Fund Accounts. Cross-trained in the financial management of grants and reporting for coverage purposes. Responsible for providing coverage for the Payroll duties and Purchasing/Accounts Payable/Benefits duties and Telestaff finalizing duties of the Administrative Assistant IV. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, is part of the Teamsters Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 9, with an hourly rate not to exceed $25.4808.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a High School Diploma or certified equivalent
Must possess three (3) to five (5) years business/accounting or a combined aggregate or related training, experience and education
Must have excellent clerical skills, oral/human relations skills and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Professional Suite or higher (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Must be able to pass a background investigation and criminal history check due to the confidentiality required in the position
Must successfully complete minimum 6-month probationary period (up to a year)
