Assistant Controller (Food Processing | Cost Accounting | NetSuite)

About the Role
AppleOne is currently recruiting an experienced Assistant Controller with a strong background in cost accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting within a food processing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute month-end close in NetSuite, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy checks
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Build and present board-level financial reports and variance analysis
Oversee cost accounting processes, including product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis
Partner with operations and production teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Monitor and analyze KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to drive plant performance
Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking
Collaborate with HR on payroll and labor cost allocation and analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements
Assist with external audits and reporting documentation
Participate in process improvement initiatives and special financial projects

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of accounting/finance experience, including cost accounting and financial close
Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or industrial manufacturing preferred
Strong expertise in NetSuite ERP (or similar systems)
Proven success in financial reporting, operational analysis, and inventory management
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
CPA or CMA certification is a plus
Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement
