Job Description
Bookkeeper position is 240 day (12 month)
Seeking qualified individual to perform all bookkeeping functions in a high school.
Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of guidelines governing essential office practices and procedures
Knowledge of clerical bookkeeping principles and practices
Knowledge of correct English language usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as strong proofreading skills
Advanced skill in the use of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and use of the Internet as an information tool
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately
Ability to routinely collect, maintain, and submit as needed a variety of records, including but not limited to student information, staff attendance and payroll, and purchasing
Ability to prepare accurate and detailed reports on schedule utilizing various data sources
Ability to establish and maintain filing systems on a variety of school operations
Ability to handle a wide variety of administrative assignments within a busy office setting by anticipating, organizing, and prioritizing incoming work
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with work associates
Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
Ability to establish rapport with parents
Experience working with diverse populations including children with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency, students who live in poverty and students who are talented and gifted
Ability to supervise and process students in the office for illness, medication, discipline, and transportation home
Demonstrated trustworthiness and ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion
Educational Requirements:
Associate's degree or higher with emphasis in business and/or administration preferred; related education required or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
