Overview
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join its growing billing department. This role supports attorneys and practice groups by preparing accurate, timely invoices; managing ebilling platforms; reconciling billing discrepancies; and ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines.
You'll work as part of a wellstructured billing team and collaborate closely with attorneys, finance leadership, and key stakeholders across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process a high volume of monthly ebills and PDF invoices
- Execute complex billing arrangements, including discounts, splitparty billing, and alternative fee structures
- Manage invoices within thirdparty ebilling systems, including appeals, rejections, accruals, and clientrequired updates
- Partner with attorneys to resolve short-pays, missing information, and client billing concerns
- Monitor invoice approvals to ensure timely processing and payment
- Update billing rates, templates, and formats as needed
- Respond to billing inquiries and research discrepancies
- Produce billing schedules, analyses, and related financial reports
- Adhere to firm billing policies, including writeoff procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and financial data
- Assist with special projects as required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of handson billing experience within a law firm
- Proficiency with Elite 3E is required
- Experience with eBilling Hub preferred
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
- Strong communication, analytical, and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Team Structure
You will join a collaborative billing team consisting of six other specialists, plus a supervisor, manager, director, and CFO.
Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year
