LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization. We are in search of an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing day to day accounting operations for a growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company supporting the pharmaceutical industry. This role partners closely with the Controller and Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable processes in a fast paced environment.

Assistant Controller

Location: Ewing, NJ (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 base salary

Industry: Manufacturing (supporting pharmaceutical customers)

Private Equity-backed

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Support external audits, PE reporting requirements, and lender reporting

  • Strengthen internal controls and support process improvements and automation

  • Partner cross functionally with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing teams

  • Assist with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis

  • Help mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • CPA or CPA?track strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Manufacturing environment experience required (pharma or regulated industry strongly preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and month end close

  • Experience in private equity-backed companies a plus

  • Hands on ERP experience; strong Excel skills required

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growth oriented environment
