Accounts Receivable - Cash Application Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Cash Application Specialist for a client in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is responsible for accurately applying customer payments, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting timely and accurate accounts receivable reporting. The position works closely with internal teams and customers to ensure proper allocation of cash and resolution of payment-related issues. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $19 and $22/hr.
Responsibilities
- Apply daily customer payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards to open invoices
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, deductions, and payment discrepancies
- Reconcile bank deposits and lockbox activity to accounts receivable records
- Communicate with customers regarding remittance details and payment clarification
- Collaborate with collections, sales, and customer service teams to resolve account issues
- Maintain accurate cash application records and supporting documentation
- Assist with accounts receivable aging reviews and month?end close activities
- Support audits by providing cash application documentation and explanations
- Identify process improvement opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications
- 1+ years of cash application or accounts receivable experience
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to research discrepancies and resolve payment issues independently
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems
- Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
