Assistant Controller

Job Store Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Centennial, CO to hire an experienced Assistant Controller. This leadership role will work closely with the Controller and serve as a key business partner to the organization, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, process improvements, and team leadership.
Salary: $120,000–$155,000
Location: Centennial, CO
Travel: Approximately 10–15%
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounts payable operations and daily accounting functions
• Manage month-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting transactions
• Assist with developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures
• Support cost accounting analysis, KPI reporting, and operational performance metrics
• Lead process improvement initiatives and help streamline accounting workflows
• Develop and maintain department process documentation
• Serve as an ERP system subject matter expert and support system improvements
• Partner with leadership teams to support financial and operational decision-making
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
We are seeking a proven accounting leader who can operate as a strategic business partner within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience overseeing accounts payable, month-end close, financial reporting, ERP systems, process optimization, and accounting team leadership. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and a track record of driving operational and financial improvements. A CPA or MBA is preferred, along with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who:

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, IQMS, or Syteline
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven leadership and process improvement experience
