LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable company that is located in State College, PA. We are seeking an experienced Temporary Accounting Supervisor/Manager to support accounting operations during a critical business period. This role will oversee daily accounting functions, supervise accounting staff, and ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands?on leader with strong technical accounting expertise who can step in quickly and provide stability, structure, and mentorship to the team.
Temporary Accounting Supervisor / Manager
Location: State College, PA
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite (Monday-Friday)
Salary: $45-$55/hr.
Duration: 12-18 Month Temporary Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day?to?day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare, review, and approve account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review journal entries and support month?end and close activities.
- Oversee treasury functions, including cash management and banking activity.
- Review, analyze, and interpret financial statements and variance analyses.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and support audit preparation and requests.
- Train, mentor, and review the work of accounting staff; provide guidance, feedback, and technical support.
- Ensure proper documentation of accounting procedures, controls, and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of best practices.
- Collaborate with finance leadership and cross?functional teams as needed to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
- Strong accounting background with in?depth knowledge of GAAP.
- 3-5 years of supervisory or managerial accounting experience.
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing:
- Account reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations and treasury activities
- Journal entries
- Financial statements
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Demonstrated ability to train and develop accounting staff.
Preferred Experience
- Prior healthcare accounting experience preferred, but not required.
- Hands?on experience with EPIC software preferred.
- Experience using Oracle ERP preferred.
