Commercial Billing Specialist (Healthcare) Interim Opportunity Employment Type: Interim / Temporary Schedule: Full-Time Work Arrangement: Onsite Compensation : $36-45/hour DOE About the Opportunity We are partnering with a healthcare organization seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to support their revenue cycle team during a critical interim period. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and can step in quickly with minimal training. The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare billing knowledge and direct experience working within MEDITECH . Key Responsibilities Process and submit insurance claims accurately and timely Review, verify, and correct billing information to ensure clean claim submission Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies Work directly with insurance carriers, patients, and internal departments regarding billing inquiries Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile billing accounts Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation Identify trends in denials and support resolution efforts to improve cash flow Ensure compliance with payer regulations and healthcare billing standards Qualifications 2+ years of healthcare billing experience required Direct experience with MEDITECH is required Strong understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing processes Experience with claim denials, appeals, and payment posting Knowledge of EOBs, authorizations, and payer guidelines Strong attention to detail and ability to work with urgency Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload Preferred Experience Hospital or physician practice billing experience Experience with A/R follow-up and collections Familiarity with revenue cycle KPIs and billing analytics Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
