Join Our Team as a Payroll Specialist!
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage the endtoend payroll processing for approximately 1,000 employees across multiple U.S. states. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations, supporting employees, and partnering with HR, Finance, and other teams. The ideal candidate brings strong multistate payroll experience, advanced Excel skills, and confidence navigating complex payroll environments.
Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually
As a Payroll Specialist, you will:
- Process biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Administer multistate payroll processing, including state and local tax compliance
- Calculate wages, salaries, bonuses, overtime, tax withholdings, garnishments, and deductions
- Maintain and audit employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and job changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws (FLSA, wage & hour, tax regulations)
- Manage payroll documentation such as timesheets, direct deposits, W2s, W4s, and payroll adjustments
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide exceptional customer support
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with HR, Accounting, Finance, IT, and external payroll vendors
- Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies
Requirements:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a highvolume, multistate environment
- KRONOS / UKG Workforce Management experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or FPC designation (preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problemsolving skills
- Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience working with payroll systems such as:
- ADP
- UKG / Kronos
- Paychex
- SAP
