Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work performing various accounting tasks for the department, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.
- Maintains complex general accounting books involving a combination of state and federal funds.
- Reviews and processes departmental invoices; processes purchase requisitions; monitors expenditures; ensures documentation, such as W-9 and/or electronic direct deposit forms are provided by vendors.
- Maintains trust accounts.
- Gathers data and prepares and submits reposts as necessary.
- Assists in the budgeting process.
- Prepares Accounts Receivable, Collections and Fixed Asset Transfer forms as needed.
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Thorough knowledge of general accepted governmental accounting terminology, principles, methods, and procedures.
- General knowledge of accounts payable policies, practices, and procedures.
- General knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment.
- Ability to make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to post accounts with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to efficiently operate a variety of office machines.
- Ability to operate personal computer including some knowledge of applicable software packages.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, and the public.
- Associate degree or equivalent.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Valid driver's license.
