J OB SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting for a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator based at our Montreal plant. Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor , the incumbent will be responsible for the complete payroll processing for salaried, unionized and retired employees for western and eastern operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensur e full payroll processing for all employees (salaried, unionized, and retire es) i n compl ian c e wi th collective agreements and established procedures;
  • Mo nit or and update leave entitlements (statutory, v acation , anniversar y , etc.), w i th a part icul ar focus o n u n ion iz ed em pl oy e es;
  • P r ocess bank transfers and paym ent reques ts (taxes, union dues, garnishments, etc.);
  • Prepar e R ecords of E mploym e nt f or employees , students, and interns ;
  • Act as a payroll resource person and s upport managers o n payroll- r e lat ed mat ter s;
  • Ma n ag e the opening and closing of employee p ayr oll fil e s;
  • Prepare an d reco n ci l e government remittances (taxes, T4, etc.);
  • Participate in y ea r- end ac t iviti es and p repare payroll- related reports ( worked and paid hours, overtime, absenc e s) .

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • College diploma in Administration, or Management of Human Resources, or Accounting;
  • Accreditation to the National Payroll Institute, an asset;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in a unionized environment; ability to interpret collective agreements;
  • Bilingualism both oral and written (French and English) in order to be able to communicate with our French and English-speaking sites ;
  • Knowledge in the field of pay and various provincial legislations;
  • Knowledge of Word software, intermediate level;
  • Knowledge of Excel software, advanced level;
  • Knowledge of UKG (Kronos) and Dimensions (Business Central) ;
  • Analytical & synthesis skills and decision making abilities ;
  • Good s ense of teamwork, of responsibility and autonomy;
  • Attention to quality and excellent planning and organizational skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS (OFFICE/PLANT, TRAVELING, ON CALL, ETC):

  • Position currently hybrid: 3 days in the office/ 2 days of telework (subject to change).
