Controller

Kforce's client, a privately held, multi-entity organization within a construction focused industry in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations and lead accounting functions.

Summary:This role partners closely with ownership and senior leadership, balancing day-to-day accounting responsibilities with higher-level financial oversight. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment. This client offers salary, 100% paid benefits for self and family, PTO 3 weeks, 401(k) team-oriented working environment. This position will be full time onsite in the Saint Louis, MO area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full cycle monthly close process across multiple entities
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform account reconciliations
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Process weekly payroll
• Inventory and cost of goods sold
• Support leadership with clear, timely financial reporting and analysis* 5-8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience and management skills
• Experience supporting multi-entity and/or owner-operated businesses
• Background in manufacturing, construction, or a similar trade-based industry
• Ability to work independently while providing leadership and sound judgment
• Comfortable building and improving systems and processes
• Ability to clearly communicate financial results and KPIs to non-financial stakeholders
• Reliable, accountable, and growth-minded
• Comfortable interacting with multiple departments, vendors, customers, and field personnel
