The Technician, Student Accounts Receivable is a part-time position. The technician bills and collects all financial transactions for the College, ensuring accurate and timely processing. This role also provides direct support to students regarding their financial accounts.
Shift: Monday - Friday - Flexible Hours
Location: Springfield
- Bills and collects student fees; responds to student questions and inquiries
- Reconciles cash receipts and web payment systems; prepares bank deposits
- Assists in calculating and processing cash and financial aid refunds
- Manages the collection of bad debts
- Reviews accuracy of student accounts and places holds
- Assists in balancing accounts receivable ledgers
- Serves as backup for the Senior Accounts Receivable Technician
- Files and maintains cashier office records
- Reviews and maintains student account payment plans
- Assists with special accounting projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge and Skills
Experience
Six months to two years of similar or related experience
Education
A high school education or GED.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Bondable in accordance with College bonding contract.
Interpersonal Skills
Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Physical Requirements
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
