Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller Location: Branford, CT (Onsite) Salary: $110,000 $140,000 + bonus + strong benefits Why This Assistant Controller Position? Key leadership role supporting the CFO within a stable healthcare organization High visibility across accounting operations with opportunity to grow into a Controller-level role Mix of hands-on accounting and process improvement initiatives Collaborative team environment with strong leadership support Opportunity to make an immediate impact on financial reporting and internal controls Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller Support the CFO in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries Assist in managing AP, AR, and payroll functions Support budgeting and forecasting processes Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance procedures Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements Preferred Qualifications of the Assistant Controller Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred) 58+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with month-end close, audits, and internal controls Ability to work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems #LI-OR1 #LI-Onsite #INAPR2026 EB-...
