Accounting Support Specialist (A/P, A/R & Payroll)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Based on experience) Status: Full-Time Position Summary We are looking for a motivated Accounting Support Specialist to join our construction office team. This role is designed for someone who has a solid foundation in accounting principles (via college coursework) and is looking to apply that knowledge in the fast-paced construction industry. You will be responsible for the daily management of Accounts Payable and Receivable, with additional training provided to support our payroll and compliance functions. Key Responsibilities 1. Accounts Payable (A/P) Review and enter vendor and subcontractor invoices with attention to project-specific coding. Maintain the vendor database, ensuring W-9s and Certificates of Insurance (COI) are updated. Assist in the weekly check run process and reconcile monthly vendor statements. 2. Accounts Receivable (A/R) Help prepare monthly project billings and ensure all backup documentation is attached. Record customer payments and assist with the daily bank deposit. Monitor the AR aging report and assist with professional follow-up on outstanding balances. 3. Payroll & Compliance (Training Provided) Assist with the collection and verification of weekly field timesheets. Learn to prepare and file Payroll and other construction-specific labor reports. Support the office manager in organizing project files for annual insurance and financial audits. Preferred Qualifications Education: Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in progress is a plus). Experience: Previous office or bookkeeping experience and construction accounting processes is preferred, . Technical Skills: Proficiency in Spectrum and Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and data entry) and a quick ability to learn new accounting software. General knowledge of G.A. A.
