Accounts Payable Clerk - Part-time/Contract-Hire - 100% Onsite (Plymouth, MN)

Do you have hands-on Accounts Payable experience in a small, fast-moving environment? Are you comfortable managing invoices, purchase orders, and credit card reconciliations with minimal oversight?

This temporary Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity supports a growing, engineering, and privately held organization during a planned leave, with the potential to convert to a long-term role. The position focuses on maintaining accurate A/P processes, invoice matching, expense tracking, and vendor support in a collaborative, on-site office setting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and confident working independently while partnering closely with operations and accounting.

JOB DETAILS:
Pay: $25-$30+/hour
Status: Contract with potential to convert to hire
Schedule: 20-30 hours per week, 4 consistent days (Must be able to work on Thursdays)
Hours: Flexible start times: Business hours are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (9:00 AM preferred start)
Location: Onsite - Plymouth, MN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval
Perform three-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
Enter invoices into the accounting system and prepare weekly check runs
Track and reconcile company credit card activity, including monthly statements
Collect, review, and process employee expense documentation
Allocate charges to appropriate jobs, departments, and cost phases
Respond to vendor and internal A/P inquiries in a timely, professional manner
Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and administrative processes
Support additional accounting and office-related tasks as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting support experience
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, and ability to work independently.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet consistent deadlines
Comfortable working independently in a smaller, agile organization
Proficient with accounting systems and basic Excel functions
Professional communication skills when working with vendors and internal teams
Reliable, organized, and proactive in identifying what needs to be done
