Job Summary
The Payroll Coordinor is responsible for supporting payroll operions through accure and timely processing of employee payroll da, responding to inquiries, handling garnishments, and performing system updes. This role reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor and plays a critical role in ensuring payroll transactions are completed accurely, efficiently, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
This role serves as the employee facing payroll support, ensuring prompt handling of payroll reled issues, and inquiries. It is imperive th any payroll reled exceptions are escaled to the Payroll Supervisor who serves as the primary point of escalion and resolution owner.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to payroll-reled communicions and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Promptly escale complex or unresolved issues to the Payroll Supervisor
- Process and maintain wage garnishments in accordance with established procedures and escale non-routine or complex garnishment issues to the Payroll Supervisor.
- Perform da entry and process payroll-reled updes as required to support accure and timely payroll processing.
- Upde and maintain accure employee payroll records in Workday.
- Assist in payroll processing preparion by entering, organizing, and validing payroll da
- Support payroll audits, reporting, and documention as assigned.
- Maintain organized records of payroll transactions, correspondence, and supporting documention.
- Assist with employment verificions th require payroll da.
- Route all payroll discrepancies, employee concerns, and exceptions through the Payroll Supervisor for review and resolution.
- Ensure adherence to payroll policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
- Provide general administrive support to the payroll function.
- Confer with Payroll Supervisor, before making any escalion to HR or Finance leadership unless specifically directed by the Payroll Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Decision-Making Authority
- Support issue resolution by providing complete, accure documention and context when escaling to the Payroll Supervisor.
- Follow established payroll procedures and ensure issues are routed through the approprie internal chain of command.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive payroll mters.
Additional Duties, Responsibilities And/or experience:
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
- Strong da entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High tention to detail with ability to ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizional and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communicion and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow direction and adhere to structured escalion processes.
- Demonstres professionalism, sound judgment, and strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informion.
EDUCATION: Two- or Four-Year degree from an Accredited Institution in a reled field such as Accounting, Finance, HR, preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 13 years of payroll, HR, or administrive experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS : Working knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Office applicions, particularly Excel, with the ability to accurely enter, upde, and maintain payroll da.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
