We are part of a successful 200-year-old family-owned Austrian company - who is a global leader in glass packaging solutions and produces containers for many of the world's leading brands. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Special Projects to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day AP operations, support month-end closing activities, and contribute to cross-functional projects that improve accounting processes and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys problem-solving, learning, and contributing to team success. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): Process and verify vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests. Ensure timely and accurate coding, approval, and posting of AP transactions. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain vendor records and support the 1099 year-end process. Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations. General Accounting & Month-End Support: Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and financial reviews. Special Projects: Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives. Conduct financial data analysis to support business decisions. Assist with ad hoc reporting, research, and cross-departmental initiatives. Collaborate with other departments on special assignments assigned by management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4-5 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to accounts payable preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
