Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Overview Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their finance team in managing day-to-day payables operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting overall financial accuracy. This position plays a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly and requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability. Key Responsibilities Process invoices and verify accuracy of payment details Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Maintain accurate records of expenses and accounts payable transactions Perform data entry and ensure proper documentation within accounting systems Manage payment processes including check runs and electronic payments (ACH) Prepare and support journal entries related to accounts payable Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationships Support internal teams with invoice and payment-related inquiries Assist with additional accounting tasks and projects as needed Qualifications 3+ years of accounts payable experience preferred Associate degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with accounting or accounts payable software Strong Microsoft Excel skills and overall technical proficiency High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations Company DescriptionMilliner Talent Solutions is an Indianapolis-based staffing partner specializing in Accounting, Finance, HR, Administrative, and Customer Service talent.
