Job Summary

Manages the accounts payable duties in the district as well as intakes orders and packages for accuracy.

Qualifications

  1. Bookkeeping and Accounting Experience Required
  2. Understanding and use of web based accounting software

Required Knowledge & Abilities

  1. Understands the procedures for KSDE school finance reporting requirements.

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Input daily cash receipts onto the accounting software.
  2. Make Journal Entries as needed on the accounting software.
  3. Takes deposits to the bank as needed.
  4. Put Tax Distribution money into CDARS accounts and draw down as needed for payroll.
  5. Prepares monthly reports for the Board of Education.
  6. Does required reports and requests for the district to KSDE. TITLE Funds requests and General fund State Aid requests, Final Mill Levies Report and Local Effort for General State Aid Report.
  7. Monthly reconciliation of all bank statements.
  8. Year end process and reports for Auditor.
  9. Transfer funds as needed to cover payroll account and Accounts Payable account.
  10. Pay district bills on a timely basis. At least three check processes per month or as needed to pay.
  11. Help teachers with ordering all through the school year.
  12. Answer the phone.
  13. Coordinate the yearly secretaries and principal meeting.
  14. Making sure all of the other little odds and ends that crop up on an almost daily basis get taken care of.
  15. During the summer months-ordering for the next school year and making sure the teachers have what they need before school starts in August.
  16. Filing the paid invoices on a monthly basis.
  17. Cleaning the office when the time allows.
  18. Renew Tax Exempt Form and send to vendors.
  19. Log Project Exempt Forms online with KDOR.
  20. Work with Drivers Education Teacher in filing reports to the State of Kansas.
