Accounts Receivable Analyst Job Description The Receivables Support Analyst directly supports receivables cleanup and backlog remediation efforts by conducting detailed account research and data validation. The role focuses on accelerating receivable recovery, reducing aging exposure, and improving cycle times related to payment processing and adjustments. This position is ideal for an analytical, proactive, and highly detail-oriented professional who communicates effectively and plays a critical part in improving working capital, reducing receivable aging, and strengthening financial accuracy across the advisory business. Responsibilities Perform detailed account-level research and data validation to ensure the accuracy of receivable balances and all supporting documentation. Investigate discrepancies in receivable accounts, validate balances, and clearly document findings, resolutions, and any required follow-up actions. Review responses and supporting documentation from internal and external stakeholders, assess their accuracy, and determine appropriate next steps. Draft demand letters and prepare write-off documentation in accordance with established policies, procedures, and approval requirements. Prepare receivables for collection activities by compiling invoice copies and all required supporting documentation. Capture, update, and track Promise-to-Pay commitments, monitor follow-through, and escalate exceptions or broken commitments as needed. Research, apply, and document unapplied or misapplied cash to ensure proper allocation and timely resolution of outstanding items. Coordinate deal date changes, adjustments, and account corrections with appropriate stakeholders and update relevant systems accordingly. Escalate complex, high-risk, or unresolved issues to transaction accounting leadership with clear, concise summaries and recommendations. Maintain accurate records, notes, and audit trails to support transparency, reporting requirements, and downstream financial processes. Essential Skills Experience in accounts receivable, accounts receivable collections, or financial operations, preferably within a commercial real estate (CRE) environment. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills applied to complex receivable and financial data. Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of account information. Ability to manage competing priorities, work under time constraints, and meet deadlines consistently. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. Familiarity with workflow or tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Workday, or Salesforce. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in CRE accounts receivable or collections is preferred. Experience in both accounts receivable and accounts payable processes is beneficial. Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) systems and processes, including AR collections and cash application. Comfort working with financial operations teams and supporting broader advisory or professional services environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
