- Prepare and file various state, local, and federal compliance filings
- Supervise Tax staff members and provide guidance to Retail Accounting staff members on tax specific issues
- Balance general ledger tax Accounts
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
- Determine validity of customer exemption certificates and enter exemptions into the system
- Work with customer service, credit, retail stores, sales and customers to resolve customer tax issues
- Monitor sales tax exemption certificates for expirations and obtain current certificates as needed
- Prepare, approve, and enter customer tax credits
- Monthly and year end general accounting duties related to tax accounts
- Prepare and file annual property tax returns
- Perform tax and compliance research as needed to resolve questions
- Evaluate, file and maintain research results
- Answer jurisdictional correspondence related to tax and compliance filings
- Assist during state sales/use tax audits compiling information and customer records for auditors
- Bachelors degree in accounting (or comparative Sales/Use Tax processing experience)
- 3-5 years tax accounting experience
- Multi-state tax experience to include sales tax and property tax
- Strong PC skills
- Prospective candidate MUST possess a thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Good planning, organizational, multi-tasking and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
