Role: Billing Specialist (Legal) Industry: Legal / Consulting Schedule: Hybrid, Washington D.C Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Compensation: $60,000 - $95,000 Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, 401k, and PTO Overview A well-established national law firm is seeking a Billing Specialist to join its Washington, DC office. This role will support a collaborative billing team and is responsible for handling a high volume of complex legal billing processes in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of monthly bills accurately and in a timely manner Handle complex billing structures including: Split-party billing Multi-matter billing Client-level discounts and special arrangements Review and edit pre-bills in accordance with attorney instructions and client guidelines Maintain and update client billing instructions and ensure accuracy of client/matter setup Partner with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients to resolve billing issues Monitor and manage write-offs and carry forwards Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure all costs are captured Collaborate with Collections to resolve billing-related payment issues Prepare billing schedules, reporting, and analyses as needed Assist with special projects and process improvements Qualifications Required: Minimum 2+ years of legal billing experience Experience with e-billing platforms Proficiency in Aderant, Elite, or 3E Strong Excel skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Experience with diverse billing arrangements (flat fee, split billing, etc.) Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment Ideal Candidate Profile Polished and professional demeanor Strong organizational and time management skills Proactive, self-starter mindset Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment Interview Process Round 1: Virtual interview Round 2: Panel interview Round 3: Final leadership interview Why choose Addison Finance & Accounting?
