The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting the payroll team with all functions. They assist with the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll via the payroll system. They will have ownership of the contact with the team members to answer questions and help correct any issues that may arise. This is an entry-level position with room to grow with the company.

Here's what you'll do

  • Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters
  • Assist with audits regarding all things payroll
  • Establish and maintain payroll policies to ensure accuracy of processing and compliance with government regulations
  • Calculate payable hours, commissions, per diems, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions
  • Assist in performing monthly reconciliations and ensure payables and cash are processed correctly.
  • Coordinate with Payroll manager to create and maintain processes for payroll processing
  • Assist with tax related items including notice review and submittal
  • Maintain employee records as they relate to payroll
  • Coordinate with the Team Services Manager to ensure correct employee data
  • Provide administrative assistance to the accounting department
  • Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence

Here's what you'll need to be successful

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in a quantitative field (Accounting, economics, statistics, etc.) or relevant experience
  • Excel experience (pivot tables, graphs, functions)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Experience
  • 1 year payroll experience
  • SOX Compliance Experience
  • Knowledge of pilot and flight attendant contractual provisions for training, scheduling and/or pay

  • Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to facilitate cooperative relationships between/among people and departments
