This Accounts Payable Analyst is primarily responsible for the recording and validation of all supplier invoices in the SAP system and acting as the business' front line contact with suppliers and internal personnel on all invoices and payment related issues. This position will be required to checking coding of invoices to ensure compliance with company accounting policies and revenue / capital classifications. This position will become an expert on the Vendor Invoice Management System.
This position could also work in conjunction with other Accounts Payable Analysts and the Cash Manager on other functions such as 1099 reporting, cash forecasting support, scheduling payments to vendors, period end accruals and external audit requests. This position will also assist the Cash Manager on projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of invoice processing
- Identify and resolve complex control and accounting issues
- Verify accuracy of vendor data and process 1099 Forms
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payables process
- Perform monthly closeout reports as assigned
- Ensure the timeliness of quarterly and monthly accruals
- Resolve any discrepancies with vendors
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements
- Support internal and external auditors
- Acts as primary contact and subject expert for VIM (Vendor Invoice Management System) and ensures system is working properly to support vendor
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business desirable
- 1-2 years Accounts Payable Experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of core accounting concepts (accruals, debit/credit, account reconciliations, expense vs. capital, etc.)
- Knowledge of control concepts (segregation of duties, verification, security, etc.)
- Ability to exercise good judgement and personal communication/customer service skills
Technical Skills
- Must be experienced in the use of information technology; operational knowledge of SAP would be a plus
- Solid Mathematical and Financial acumen
- Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
