Pay: $75,000 to $87,000/year

Rockville Internal Medicine Group (RIMG) is a well-established, multi-specialty medical practice with locations in Olney and Rockville, MD. We are seeking a motivated Certified Accountant (CPA) to serve as our sole in-house accounting professional. You will manage all bookkeeping, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting, working with an external accounting firm during tax season. This role requires expert QuickBooks skills, a strong grasp of the full accounting cycle, and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and month/quarter/year-end closings.

  • Oversee ledgers, financial statements, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and profitability analyses for leadership.

  • Maintain organized documentation for all transactions and ensure proper internal controls are in place.

  • Coordinate with external accountants for audits and tax filings.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

  • Support HR in reviewing staff payroll and manage physician payroll.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong reporting and data visualization skills (preferred)
     

Education and Training Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

  • CPA designation (required)

  • 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

  • Expert proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel

  • Experience supporting a medical practice (preferred)

  • U.S. work authorization (required)

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

    • Talk and hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms

    • Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:
