and Duties Will consider Staff Services Analyst

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), and direction of the Chief, Budget Policy & Development Branch (SSMIII), the incumbent will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and developing technical documents used to create Caltrans' State Operations portion of the annual Governor's Budget. As a program budget analyst, the incumbent will have a program(s) and will coordinate and prepare statewide support budget allocations and reconcile to the State Operations appropriations; prepare expenditure reports and monitor internal budgets; and the development of Budget Change Proposals and Finance Letters. Perform independent analysis of financial information; reviewing and evaluating budget documentation; coordinating the preparation and submittal of program budget materials and provide training to budget staff on those materials; preparing and evaluating periodic, and other reports for consistency and accuracy; and providing liaison functions to supporting data systems. Working irregular hours during peak workload periods may be required.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltranss evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employees designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
