Job Description
Accounting Technician
Location: Burrell College
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Associate Controller
Starting Pay Rate : $17/hour, depending on experience

What Youll Do
As an Accounting Technician, youll support the Finance Office by performing payroll processing, financial data entry, account reconciliations, and clerical tasks. Your role will help ensure compliance, efficiency, and accuracy across departments. Key duties include:
Financial Processing
- Enter financial data from source documents (e.g., receipts, invoices, requisitions)
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Account Reconciliation & Reporting
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts
- Assist with reconciliation of student transactions
- Assist with report preparation and financial analysis
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
Department Support & Collaboration
- Back up Accounts Payable Technician
- Help prepare for audits and organize supporting documentation
- Maintain accounting filing systems and assist with finance department tasks
- Support the Assistant Controller and Controllers Office as requested

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, payroll, or a related administrative role involving financial data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or certificate in accounting or related field
- Experience in an academic or higher education setting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar financial systems
