Leading local firm looking for a self-motivated Senior Tax Associate to join their growing team. Essential Functions of the Senior Tax Associate:
- Prepare and file state and local sales and use tax returns, including compilation and analysis of financial data
- Performing a detailed technical review of state and local indirect tax returns
- Maintain and update sales tax return worksheets and procedures
- Assisting with drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.
- Respond to sales tax inquiries raised by internal customers and taxing jurisdictions
- Register, renew and cancel state, county, city and local sales tax permits
- Develop and maintain sales tax knowledge relating to laws and regulations in assigned states
- Identify process improvements and cost savings opportunities
- Assist with training of new team members
Job Requirements of the Senior Tax Associate:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field
- CPA Certification, additional specialty certifications a plus
- 2+ years of proven experience in a Senior Tax Associate role
- Ability to utilize firm technology
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion and desire to be in public accounting and ability to look at the full picture of clients’ needs
- Some travel may be required
