Supervisor, Gift Shop - La Jolla

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. Scripps La Jolla shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. We're also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM.

The Supervisor, Gift Shop oversees daily retail operations of the hospital gift shop. Recruits trains and supervises volunteers and staff. Markets retail promotions creates visual displays manages retail buying and pricing and produces all financial reports. Assist in developing annual budget and inventory levels meeting with vendors working with accounts payable with invoicing and attending onsite and offsite meetings as required. Ensure that the gift shop is adequately staffed during business hours maintains merchandise of high quality and controls all financial transactions.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Retail Services or business related equivalent plus 5 years experience as a buyer with background in merchandizing accounting purchasing and business procedures 2 of which in a supervisory role.
• Must be capable of exercising good judgment and dealing harmoniously with the public.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• Position requires flexibility with regard to scheduling.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• Experience overseeing staff (paid and/or volunteer staff)

Position Pay Range: $26.16-$34.65/hour
